A Match Made in Heaven

We're thrilled to announce our joint venture with Wave Pizza!

When we set out on this journey, our goal was to open a taproom; a place to serve good beer to good people, tank-to-table. Even with that in mind, we still recognized the need for food. We investigated a number of options – snacks, carry-in, food trucks and catered meals – but it wasn't until we connected with Brent Lindner that we found a fit.

If you don't know Brent, he's the mind behind some of Grand Island's favorite establishments, including Wave Pizza, Sin City Grill, The Glass Bar and J Alfred Prufrock’s. We can't express how incredible it is to find a partner with the experience and vision that Brent brings.

This winter, we'll open a joint space on First Street – Wave at 713 W 1st and Steeple at 717. Our plans include a walkway and shared bar, creating a single spot for enjoying handmade pizza and local beer.

So what's this mean for Steeple Brewing?

Food. Delicious Food.

The best pizza in central Nebraska, served right alongside our beer. Truly a match made in heaven.

Extended Hours.

Our original plan was to open our taproom Thursday - Saturday, just 30 hours per week. Now you'll be able to get our beer, on tap from open-to-close, seven days a week.

More Seating.

A shared space means double the seating; more room to enjoy good food, good beer and good conversation.

A Little More History

For years, Brent had been told he needed a spot in Hastings. He was scouting spots in downtown late last year, right around the same time we were. Seeing us both on the hunt, THOAR LLC (the group redeveloping the Block 27 Lofts and our location on First Street) saw a Wave/Steeple pairing as a natural fit.

Dave Rippe, Justin Osborne and the other THOAR partners brought us together for a meeting, and we owe the formation of our partnership to them. Many meetings – and pints and slices – later, we've formalized our partnership and are ready to bring handmade pizza and local beer to Downtown Hastings.

We'll have plenty more to share as we continue our progress! We'll see you all this winter when we open. Cheers!
